About - Lynne Mills | Girl Meets Brush Founder

MUA & Founder Lynne Mills

'“I started my Make-Up Career back in 2005 after training at the School of Make-Up in Manchester, to then further advanced training with international leading Make-Up Artist Val Garland.

I have since been very fortunate to set up and run my own UK wide Make-up Team working on many amazing projects over the years.

From designing a false eyelash product ‘Miss Flicklash’ in 2012, which was initially launched & stocked with Harvey Nichols as well as ASOS.com, then in 2013 an exclusive worldwide license deal with brand-leader Eylure was signed launching the product globally.

To also having my make-up work featured in publications such as Vogue, Marie Claire and The Sunday Times Style Magazine, plus top bridal publications (including the front covers) for Tie the Knot & Scottish Wedding Magazine.

I’ve been privileged enough to work on projects/briefs for designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Matthew Williamson and Preen.

As well as heading up the team for the Alfa Romeo Young Designer of Year Fashion Show and currently being Head of Make-Up with House of iKons during London Fashion Week.

I have also had the honour to work with many famous faces over the years, such as - Dame Judi Dench, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Claudia Winkleman, Anna Friel, Arlene Philips, Mo Gilligan, Jimmy Carr, Alice Levine, Little Simz, Fiona Shaw, Sharon Horgan, Lauren Laverne, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Kirsty Young, the Great British Bake Off Team (the original cast line up – Mary Berry, Mel & Sue and Paul Hollywood).

As well as Celebrity Juice Presenter Keith Lemon and Panelists including Sara Cox, also Mariella Frostrup, Anneka Rice, some of the Gogglebox cast & even being the Make-Up Artist for Ronan Keating’s wedding in Scotland.

In 2015 I set up Girl Meets Brush, with the view to ‘making make-up simple’ for the every day woman but also creating a brand for Make-Up Artists to use with their clients.

The Brand has since expanded from a Simple Brush Set to also including a Make-Up Palette & Accessory range too, all geared to the working Pro MUA but also the every day woman.

My most recent Chapter & the most exciting right now is the Online Make-Up Academy & MUA Community.

First launched in 2018, it is where I have created a range of different Online Courses and Opportunities for the beginner right up to the working pro, providing ongoing support with our amazing talented team & online community.

It is a unique & flexible opportunity that is ever growing to provide first class training for the aspiring make-up artist.

My mission is to pass on my knowledge & expertise within the industry to support upcoming Make-Up Artists produce high quality, timeless and stylish work that will set their career paths in the right direction.

I see Girl Meets Brush as a Brand that marries both high quality Professional Products with nurturing Make-Up Talent, to help produce the next generation of Make-Up Artists alongside exciting Product Innovation!”
