Advice and Extra Pointers (including advice some of our previous participants).
1. Preparation is Key
“Plan your look & test your ideas to ensure they work under different lighting and conditions. Preparation helps you take control and lets your creativity shine.”
2. Be True to Your Vision
“Don’t try to create what you think the others want to see. Instead, focus on creating something that represents your style and passion. Authenticity always stands out.”
3. Presentation Matters
“Your presentation isn’t just about the makeup. Choose a model and styling that complement your concept. It’s all part of making an impact with the over all composition of your look.”
4. Stay Open to Feedback
“Take feedback on board—even if you don’t agree at first—is crucial to growth. The feedback you get during the awards is invaluable and can push your work to the next level.”
5. Celebrate the Experience
"The awards are as much about connection as competition. Network with other artists you meet in the community, celebrate your work and enjoy the shared passion for makeup artistry. The experience itself is a win!"
Each piece of advice is designed to help you approach the competition with confidence and creativity while enjoying the process every step of the way.
Remember, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn, grow, and showcase your talent. Focus on the process, take each challenge as a chance to improve, and enjoy being part of this creative community. No matter the outcome, the experience itself is invaluable and worth celebrating.
