How the Halloween MUA Awards Work
The Halloween Make-Up Artist Awards are our Mini Seasonal Awards, celebrating Halloween-Inspired Make-Up!
The Awards are held completely Online, making them open and accessible regardless of where you are based.
Submissions are Professionally Judged, with No Public Voting - Your work is recognised for its Creativity, Skill and Overall Presentation, not the size of your following.
You can enter existing work you have from the last 3 Years, or Create Something New if you wish - as long as it has a Halloween Theme.
We have set 4 Halloween Make-Up Themes that will cover most areas of Halloween make-up, these are not Briefs as such, but simply a guide for uploading work.
MUAs can enter One Theme or All Four, with one entry per theme per person.
Our 4 Halloween Make-Up Artist Awards Themes are: SFX & Gore, Glam Horror, Character & Creature Makeup & Dark Editorial/Creative Beauty.
The awards are open to MUAs at all levels, whether you’re an emerging artist, experienced professional, creative MUA, SFX artist or simply love creating Halloween make-up.
Within each category, we’ll announce Winners, Highly Commended and Merit Awards, with results shared during Halloween Week across the MUA Awards / Girl Meets Brush platforms.
About the Make-Up Artist Awards
The Make-Up Artist Awards celebrate creativity, skill and talent within the global Makeup Artist Community.
Our Online MUA Awards are open to artists at all stages of their careers, from Beginners to Experienced Professionals looking to showcase their work and gain industry recognition.
With a range of Awards including Bridal Make-Up Awards, Fashion Make-Up Awards, Creative Awards as well as our main Event - MUA of the Year.
We are also launching two other smaller online events this year too - including the Portfolio Awards that just ran & our brand new Halloween MUA Awards too.
We provide Makeup Artists with an opportunity to Build their Portfolios, gain Valuable Exposure and be Recognised for their work within the industry.
Organised Fully Online, our Awards are Accessible for all & run Via our Online Portal, as well as Private Community, allowing for full Flexibility, Support & Feedback.
Our Winners can gain Publication Opportunities (some are pictured below) with Media Partners, Prizes, and Recognition across various categories, including Digital & Printed Certificates, Badges, and Glass Awards.
Our other Media Partners include Malvie, Vigour, Know, Dolce, Glamour, Elle, To Have & To Hold National Bridal Magazine to name only a few. Some include Main Features & even Front Covers too.

How do i Sign up to the awards?
You can sign up via the ‘Sign Up’ Button Above.
Everything is held Online & once the Awards Open for Submissions you will receive Access to Upload your work.
This is where all the Info & Support will be held.
How does it work?
Once you sign up, you’ll receive access to submit your entries through our Online Awards Portal.
The Halloween Make-Up Artist Awards are our mini seasonal awards, so there is no set brief to follow.
Instead, you can enter your Halloween-inspired make-up work into one or more of our 4 Themes - SFX & Gore, Glam Horror, Character/Creature Makeup & Dark Editorial / Creative Beauty.
You can enter One or all Four, with One Entry Per Theme Per Person.
You can submit work from the last 3 years, or create New Work if you wish, as long as it fits one of the Halloween Themes
How are the winners chosen?
Each Halloween Make-Up Artist Awards genre will be professionally judged, with Winners, Highly Commended and Merit Awards announced in each category.
Entries will be judged on creativity, make-up skill, Halloween impact, overall presentation and how well the look fits the selected Theme.
For this mini awards, there are no runners-up, finalist stages or guest judge final rounds. Instead, each Theme will be judged directly, with recognition given across different levels - from Winners to Highly Commended & Merit Placements too.
Selected Winners may also receive publication opportunities with our media partners.
Are there any costs in taking part?
There is a One Off Small Sign Up Fee to Participate, including - Full Access to the Awards Submissions, Feedback, Support and access to our Community.
Every MUA participating also receives Access to an Online Masterclass with Guest Expert within our MUA Academy, plus Digital Face Charts as an Additional Bonus.
We also offer other add on Options such as Glass Awards Upgrades for Winners (fully optional), but all other Prizes such as Digital Certificates, Gift Vouchers & Publication for Winners, as well as Support are all Included.

Founded by MUA of 20 Years Lynne Mills, Lynne saw the opportunity to create an award based on skills & following a brief to promote make-up artists' quality of work as well as achievements, as opposed to focusing on public voting.
Lynne has worked within the industry for 20 years now, from running an award winning bridal team nationally, to working on shoots that have featured in Vogue & Sunday Time Style to Elle as well as many more.
Plus as working with many Famous Faces over the years as well as working as a Lead Make-Up Artist at London Fashion Week.
